Life's Three Paths

Death. Doom. Destiny.
They all took my life,
Took my spirit away
From the structured world
Where we strive to balance
Our thoughts and minds.
My spirit was taken away
From choice, consequence,
Pain, pleasure.
All the offers of the world.

Death.
He may strike alone at
Young or old,
Weak or strong,
Man or woman.
We cannot understand his reasons.
He strikes fast or slow, but
Random, like chance,
Odds small or great,
Who knows?

Doom.
Fate we were born to have,
We can never do any more than
What was intended for us to live out.
He can be brought upon us
By us or just by chance,
We hate doom, it is our doom,
Or others doom that we cannot change.

Destiny.
He calls us at different times.
We live our planned life, and then he comes,
Through people, writing,
We may accept him, or not.
But life is not the same if we reject him,
We are born to live him out.

Which of these three paths shall I choose?
Should I dies quietly and softly,
Die through fate,
Or challenge my fate?
