Journey to Learning

(March 2005)

We walk among the many masses strong
That strive to gain the power in the mind,
The joy of learning always comes to all
Who now embrace its wondrous form of art.
To learn, we find, is not an easy task,
And tough the long road is that we must take,
But once the long journey has then been done,
The rest will finally come to those who dare
To take the challenge and endure the pain.
When on my travels, I did lose my way,
And failed to keep the strength right in my mind,
So I collapsed, and fell to my demise,
And at this time I found myself a fool.
How could I fail when I had gone this far?!,
Screamed I unto myself as I lay there,
Amid the barren wastelands of my doom.
The ground was bare, the sand was all around;
I could not see my whereabouts at all,
Caught up I was in hopeless agony,
And never to be freed from prison mine.
But fortune always comes to those who wait
And I was not to die before my time,
So came a supernatural power from the sky,
That spoke to me when I was in my craze.
It told me that I had fallen from grace,
And I had been too overconfident,
I had placed all my false hope right in front,
And left my common sense way back behind.
But I could still be freed from oer my cage;
My rescuer was holding out the key,
He said that all I had to do was learn
That I am not immortal, I am weak.
