The Luke & Martha (Conant) Perkins Family of Plympton was a family I had hesitated to bring forward here until I had the chance to uncover just exactly where my Ruth Perkins, wife of Jesse Pierce of Middleborough, fit into the family. From early on it seemed highly likely that Ruth, who married at Middleboro (int. recorded at Freetown), was somehow descended from the Plympton family of Luke and Martha Perkins. This has now been proved and I have published an article Ruth Perkins, daughter of Ignatious of Freetown, Mass. that appears in the September 2006 issue of the Mayflower Quarterly 72:3:298-305 Read article here:

Ruth Perkins, daughter of Ignatious

This article examines the family of Jesse and Ruth Perkins Pierce in the light of Ruth as a descendant of John Howland. As of July 2006 I have now had the lineage of Ruth Perkins, daughter of Ignatious and Keziah (Davis) Perkins of Freetown and Wrentham, Massachusetts, accepted as a Mayflower Descendant from John Howland, Isaac Allerton, John Tilley, Mary Norris and Joan (Hurst) (Rogers) Tilley. The Mayflower Society at the 37th General Congress held at Plymouth in September 2005 voted to accept new lineages from three of the Women of the Mayflower--Mary Norris, Elizabeth Fisher and John (Hurst) (Rogers) Tilley, the wives of Isaac Allerton, Stephen Hopkins and John Tilley. Ruth Perkins can now be seen to descend from Mary Norris and Joan Tilley.
