In his prime, Jake "The Snake" Roberts was perhaps the best "heel" in the business. Jake retired from wrestling in after WWF King Of The Ring, where he helped give rise to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who used the expression Austin 3:16 as one of the best slogans in wrestling history.

Jake was truly one of the all time greats. No wrestler was ever more capable of playing the mind game then Roberts. He was well known for his ring psychology and often had wrestlers beat before the match ever started. Jake was probably most famous for Damien, a full-grown python that Jake carried with him wherever he went. Damien sat in a bag in Jake's corner and after a victory, would be set loose to attack Jake's fallen opponents.
