Hawk, as a member of the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom with his partner Animal, has been a tag team champion since day one - literally. With manager 'Precious' Paul Ellering, The Road Warriors won the vacant NWA tag-team championship in their first match together on June 6th, 1983, during a nationally-televised tournament in their hometown of Chicago. They have held every tag team championship title possible in over fifteen years together.

The Road Warriors spent their early years in the National Wrestling Alliance [the predecessor to WCW], where they were named "Tag Team of the Year" by Pro Wrestling Illustrated [1983]. Soon after, they changed their name to the Legion of Doom (LOD) and expanded their presence to the American Wrestling Association [AWA].

In 1990 LOD invaded the WWF - where they revolutionized the company's tag team division. With their dreaded finishing move - the Doomsday Device - LOD quickly garnered a cult-like fan following.

At SummerSlam 1991, LOD decisively defeated the Nasty Boys at Madison Square Gardens to capture their first WWF Tag Team Championship. They defended the titles proudly over the course of the next year - before dropping them [due to blatant outside interference] to Money, Inc. - Ted Dibiase and IRS.

A rematch was scheduled at SummerSlam 1992. Before 92,000 fans at London's Wembley Stadium, the LOD enacted revenge on Money, Inc., settling the score once and for all. After the match, LOD departed from the WWF, in order to conquer new territory - Japan. The LOD soon captured the New Japan and All Japan Tag Team Championships.

While Animal rehabilitated a broken vertebrae in his back that kept him out of wrestling for nearly three years, Hawk teamed with Kensake Sasaki and again won every team championship possible.

After dominating the land of the rising sun, LOD set their sites on WCW. At the Clash of the Champions in early 1996, LOD returned to American airwaves. They sent a clear message to the tag teams of WCW - we are here for the titles! LOD quickly disposed of the organization's top tag team talent.

Once again yearning for new competition, LOD returned to the WWF in 1997. As LOD2000, the boys took on a whole new look, as well as a new manager - the stunning Sunny. They once again captured the WWF Tag Team Championship. After brief feuds, LOD departed from the WWF - once again on the prowl for new grounds to conquer.
