They watch in silence. Theres always something about silence, isnt there? The absence of verbal communication in exchange for unhindered thought process. Theyre all intently looking at one thing in particular. They watch the way he moves, how fast he walks, when his heart skips beats and when his anger peaks. They see right through his exterior and penetrate the one thing that could make him fall - his heart. For if they attack that, if they make him see his own weaknesses and invent new ones, his morale and courage will all but diminish. Persistence overcomes all resistance.
So they watch him. Their eyes cold with concentration, not one muscle moving within their bodies except for the slow rolling of their eyes as they follow him with their gaze. They know exactly what theyre doing - theyve done it many times before. Theyre waiting for the time to strike him. To catch him off-balance and alone and to shove him to the floor. This can be done as efficiently mentally as it is physically, only mentally it does more damage. God had blessed him with a wonderful mind - able to completely think things through and understand many viewpoints, so thats usually their easiest target. Just.. whisper a tiny thought into his brain and let his thought process butcher it and analyze it and to go over it so many times that within a matter of minutes, his entire mindset is poisoned by this thought. Yes, theyre clever. Demons are very clever.
Their eyes flash - its time, they can feel it. With deadly accuracy they lunge, 34 in all, at him screaming and wailing. They crash into him and instantly begin tearing his flesh and biting his face. As his physical self is standing solitary in his room alone, a glazed look in his eyes, his emotional side is crying out in pain lying down on the ground as they kick and claw their wicked thoughts into him. A mangled and barely recognizable figure is all thats left of him after only a minute. At once, the demons cease and stand back as the elder comes forward. Deception is his name, he is used to finish the job. He slowly walks up (even though time is almost frozen), bends down to his ear and whispers, "This was you. Youre the one beating yourself up. Whats wrong with you? You should be ashamed of yourself." The he rises and walks away as the demons scatter.
