| Our meeting on Saturday
September 17, 2005 will be held at Robert Roper’s pond
on Roper Road. Hamburgers and drinks will be provided, ya'll bring desserts
and snack foods and lawn chairs. We will also be collecting money
for the Hurricane Katrina relief fund to help our Compatriots in the Gulf
area. The cookout will begin at 6:00, the neighborhood-renowned
McGowan Band will be playing and highlighting their new CD. I
have tried to contact all members to find out if they were coming and how
many guests they were bringing so if you have not been contacted please
call me (Gary) at 864-876-2995 or Ludie at 864-682-5411. |

Clinton: Go south on Hwy 72 towards Greenwood. From the intersection at Bishop Tires/Clinton Elementary School, go Approx. 5 ½ miles, and turn right onto Lisbon Road. Go 4 miles and turn right onto Roper Road. Fishpond gate is Approx. 1 ½ miles on left. |
From Laurens: From downtown Laurens go South on Hwy 221 ( S. Harper St.) and go through the traffic light at Farley Ave. , then just past intersection turn left onto S. Harper St. Extension. Go 3 miles and turn right onto Burnt Mill Creek Road. Go 1 mile and turn left onto Roper Road. Fishpond gate is on the right after crossing the creek |
From Maddens/Stagecoach Road area:
Go south on Hwy. 221, pass New Prospect Baptist Church, and turn left onto Lisbon Road. Go 3 miles and turn left onto Roper Road. Fishpond gate is appox. 1 ½ miles on left. |
