mcgowan camp

Our meeting  May 18, 2006 will be held at the Capital theater on the Square in downtown Laurens across from the Confederate Memorial.  A Hamburger Plate Dinner will be served at a cost of $5.00 and will be served beginning at 6:00 with our meeting starting at 7:00.

Our speaker this month will be Mr. Skip Earle, who is past Tennessee Division Commander and now lives in Simpsonville. Mr. Earl will be speaking about Nathan Bedford Forrest at Bailey's Crossroads.

Everyone needs to be at the meeting on the 18th or else give written proxy to someone who will be there, because we will be voting on whether or not to accept ownership and liability for the property where the Watts House stood.

Acceptable written proxy can be as simple as:

I, Joe Smith, give permission to John Jones to be my proxy at the May 18 2006 Samuel McGowan SCV Camp meeting in Laurens South Carolina concerning the Watts House property.
