| Our meeting March 16, 2006 will be held at
the Capital theater on the Square in downtown Laurens across from the Confederate
Memorial. The reason for our meeting change, if you haven’t heard,
was due to the Watts House burning down. A Hamburger Plate Dinner will
be served at a cost of $5.00 and will be served beginning at 6:15 with our
meeting starting at 7:00. |
Our guest speaker this month will be Mr. Gordon
C. Rhea of Mt. Pleasant, S. C. Gordon is both an author and lawyer.
His latest book is “CARRYING THE FLAG” , a non-fiction book about Private
Charles Whilden of Charleston and McGowan’s Brigade. Gordon has written
four other books about Lee vs Grant, during the 1864 campaign, from the Wilderness
to Cold Harbor. All of Gordon’s books deal with General McGowan’s Brigade.
He will have copies of his books at our meeting
