The Charleston Battalion boasted a battle record unmatched by any other unit in the defense of Charleston throughout 1862-63.  In the autumn of 1863 they went to form 7/10ths of the newly organized 27th South Carolina Regiment and as such gained new laurels in Virginia and North Carolina.

An owner and the company's Director of Operations, Chris uses his training as a research historian to develop new tour themes. He established the internationally acclaimed Civil  War Walk and his
years of research have resulted in two important Charleston titles - “The Bombardment of Charleston 1863-1865”, as well as the forthcoming “Charlestonians in War", both of which are available through Pelican Press and regional booksellers. Chris has also assisted in the research and design of The Charleston Walk, The Maritime Walk, The Hidden Pubs Walk, and The Wicked Charleston Walk. Chris's preferred area of research is 19th Century Southern History, with an particular emphasis on the American Civil War period. Outside of work Chris enjoys a wide variety of activities from playing right defense on the Charleston Walks soccer team to riding dirt bikes with his son Tucker and spending time with his wife Aimee and daughter Addie-Belle.
