The year 2005 brings exciting opportunities McGowan
Camp starting with the Battle of Aiken on February 26 and 27. This largest
reenactment in South Carolina is sponsored by the Barnard E. Bee Sons
of Confederate Veterans Camp in Aiken.
The month of April brings our South Carolina Division Convention on the 1st and 2nd at the Florence Convention Center. I'll have registration forms for those who can attend. We had a nice turnout in Greenville last year and I'd like to have a good representation from our camp in Florence. On May 7th we have Confederate Memorial day Service beginning at 10:00am at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia and concluding with a march to the State House. We are looking at the date of May 14th for our Memorial Day Service here in Laurens. July will be our National Convention to be held in Nashville, Tennesee. Lots of activities are available to us to further the cause of the SCV.. Thursday the 20th we'll be starting off the year right with former CIC of the SCV Ron Wilson as our special guest speaker. I'll plan to see you at the Watts House on the 20th. |
Our guest speaker on January 20th will be past
CIC Ron Wilson, who will be speaking on a subject that effects all of us
as Sons of Confederate Veterans. Please make it a point to attend
this meeting to hear what Ron has to say.
