Marker Dedication Ceremony - August 16, 2003

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Friends and decedents of Trooper Franklin Durant Gatch, Co.B,  Colleton Rangers 3rd S.C.V.C.

August 16th 2003 at 10:00 A.M. in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Walterboro S.C.

There will be a double marker Dedication in the cemetery for Pvt. William B. Booth Co. H 26th Georgia and Corporal Zachariah Jones Co. K. 11th S.C. Infantry  K.I.A. in ole Virginia in the spring of 1864 and buried in a mass grave.

These soldiers were nephews of Franklin Durant Gatch and they need recognition for their sacrifice other than a yankee foot marker saying "Mass Grave of Unknown Confederates."
We need help from the Colleton Rangers Camp and from other S.C.V. Camps and re-enactors. Please advise early for ample co-ordination of personnel and planning.
