Our meeting on Thursday, April 19 will feature Dr. John Griffin, from Lancaster. Dr. Griffin visited our Camp last fall, and presented a program on the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. His topic for this month's meeting will be Lt. Bill Farrow, a World War II pilot who was one of Gen. Doolittle's Raiders. Lt. Farrow was a native of Darlington County, SC. While hearing about one of our heroes from a later war is a change of pace from our usual programs, the story of Lt Farrow is both very interesting and inspirational. You'll be glad you learned about this fine son of South Carolina. Thanks to all of you who attended our March meeting, our first meeting in the American Legion Post 56 building in Clinton. We now have a great meeting place and ALL our members need to get back in the habit of coming to our meetings. We need to have a Camp cookout, or a Camp family night in the next couple of months. The Legion Hall is located in the forks of the road at Hwy 72 N (Willard Rd) and North Adair Street. From downtown Clinton go North on Hwy 72, towards Whitmire, and it's on the right about 1/4 mile past the Hwy 56 intersection. If you drive out N. Adair street, it's just past Clinton High School. From I-26, exit off at Exit 54 (Hwy 72), head into Clinton, go thru first traffic light (Rosemont Cemetery will be on your right), and the Legion Post will be directly in front of you. It's a hard place to miss, there's a tank and an artillery piece out front. |
