Never thought I would acutally ever start a blog, but I never have heard of any one starting a blog about their model railroad, and hardly anyone my age seems to be into model trains (mid 20s). If anyone is reading this and is about my age let me know. I think alot of people my age or younger are more into video games. For those of you who grew up right before my generation , please know that there is nothing wrong with that. I still play them about as much as I play with my model trains. Plus cost hurts. But if you start small and look hard you can actually make a desent layout for less than what a PlayStation 3 cost. Like I said, nothing wrong with it, we just grew up that way. I did get my first train set some 4 or 5 years before my Nintendo arived.
So for my first posting I thought I would give an update on the Maryville Southern, my little piece of model railroad heaven. I have sad and good news, the current one I was working on the past few months was pretty much destroyed by catzilla. Somehow she mistook the layout for her scratching post. Most of the buildings were salvagable and the cars and locomotive are intact. There is some good news to come out of this though. I have been working on revamping the plans and changing the track and trackplan anyway. I have always built beginner layouts and now hope the Maryville & Southern 2.0 will be better. I be back in a few days.
