Clutch of the Dragon Part Four - The Revenge

* Auroch wakes up early in the morning, and looks outside

* Zeke stares absently at the fire

<Auroch> Penny for yer thoughts, Zeke?

* Kairune comes back into the cave, grumbling

<Kairune> damn it

* Auroch gasps

* Ishgar continues to snore

* Kiran mumbles in her sleep about noise and tries to fall back asleep

* Nierad looks at the group

* Zeke nods

<Auroch> We were so close te gettin rid of ye!

* Sirin walks in on the group

<Nierad> you guys sure wake up late

<Kairune> I can't just jump down the mountain!

<Sirin> Hello

* VerDir watches from afar, wondering if he should move in

<Auroch> Bah!

<Auroch> How'd the saris get away?

* Kairune spits

<Ishgar> errr...ahhh..morning already?

* Zeke sighs

* Kiran yawns and stretched

<Auroch> Aye, me dwarf friend

<Kiran> You people are too noisy in the morning

* Zeke remembers the angel

* Kairune grumbles

* Auroch remembers the grumbling very clearly

<Nierad> I was as quiet as a fish

<Auroch> Bah!

* Nierad looks at Auroch and Zeke

* Kiran gets up and walks to the mouth of the cave

<Auroch> Was it yer harp that snored so loud then?

<Nierad> watching you guys oversleep

<Kairune> bah

* VerDir picks up his things then starts to travel down to meet the group, dropping the beast he was feeding from

<Kairune> I say we cut that thing's strings now...

<Kiran> Kairune, thats not very nice.

* Nierad puts his harp close to him

<Kairune> something odd about it..

<Nierad> you just try!

<Auroch> But then we'd be stuck with just his voice!

* Kairune spits

<Nierad> I'll play you as a puppet with the strings!

* Gideon begins humming by Auroch's side

* Nierad sighs

* Ishgar looks at Kairune and smiles

* Auroch looks around

* VerDir walks up

<Auroch> What was that?

<VerDir> Hello

<Kiran> Heh, now that I would like to see some time.

* Kairune looks at Ishgar in surprise

<Kairune> Ah

* Kiran jumps in surprise

* Auroch looks at the newcomer

* Nierad looks at the new person

* Zeke 's eyes narrow

<VerDir> Where would you all be headed?

* Auroch wonders who this person is meeting them on top of a mountain

<Nierad> oh great, I hope your friend has more respect than you Kairune

* Auroch spits

* Kiran walks back and packs up her things

* Auroch doesn't trust the newcomer

<Nierad> hey newcomer, becareful with Kairune, if his horrible face, and bad matters do not get you, his breaking pikes might

<VerDir> Hey, there is a fairly large bounty on my head for what I did

* Zeke whispers to Auroch ' i dont trust him either

<Nierad> too bad I am not in need of money

* Auroch whispers back "good think 'e's not a dragon, no?"

<Kiran> Well then, going back to the Eastlands would not be good for you.

<VerDir> She was engaged to the Emporer of the Central Empire

* Zeke whispers to Auroch 'I'm hurt!

<VerDir> No it would not

<Nierad> TWO empires?!?!

<Kiran> You are lucky you are not dead.

<Zeke> his claims have no merit

<Sirin> How much was that bounty on your head?

<VerDir> The Central Empire did not care, they quickly found a replacement

<Zeke> Wheres the wanted poster?

* Auroch whispers back "Bah!"

* Zeke insists on seeing proof before believing him

<Kiran> If you were wanted, would you carry proof of it on you?

<Nierad> Zeke, if you were wanted, would you carry a poster with your face drawn on it with you?

<Kiran> I sure wouldn't.

<Kiran> Wow

* Zeke thinks Nierad has a point

* Ishgar picks up bag and walks over to the stranger

* Kiran grins

<VerDir> and the Eastlands would have had much embarasment if they knew what had happened

<Nierad> yes Kiran

<VerDir> So they killed her

<Kairune> well

* Kiran narrows her eyes

<Kiran> That was not nice.

<Kairune> we can't afford to have a fugitive in the group

* Auroch looks at the man, and the stuff he's showing off

* Nierad thinks to himself 'Ver'Dir doesn't sound much like a human name...'

* Kiran smiles

* Auroch thinks that for a difficult to reach cave, there are a lot of visitors this morning

* Nierad moves towards Kiran

* Kairune whispers 'I dunno yet... '

<Nierad> how was your night sleeping on a mountain cave?

* Kiran yawns and smiles at Nierad

* Gideon hums quietly by Auroch's side

* Nierad chuckles

* Auroch looks around

<Kiran> Dwarves snore!

* Nierad smiles

<Kiran> And you do snore!

* Gideon hums again this time louder like someone yawning

* VerDir grumbles

* Kiran raises an eyebrow

* Zeke sighs

* Gideon precieves the area around it

* Zeke narrows his eyes at Ver'Dir

* Nierad is ready to play an offensive song

* VerDir points it at the newcommer

<Gideon> Yes that's right.

<VerDir> Oh, never mind

<Gideon> Your completely nuts

<Auroch> Bah!

<Zeke> eh?

* VerDir lowers it

<Kiran> Since when do weapons talk?

* VerDir picks up the whispering

<Auroch> Look, i've only seen one talkin' weapon before, an' that was a sword

* Auroch looks at his axe

* Auroch is proud of his logic

<VerDir> We can find out if it is the axe the easy way...

<Nierad> arguing with a talking axe

<Zeke> if a sword could talk, why not an axe?

<Gideon> If it makes you feel better then yes I'm a sword

<Nierad> what next, a demon handing out flowers?

* Zeke laughs

<Auroch> Because, yer not a sword!

<VerDir> I've dealt with mercinaries and assassins, what makes you think you can take offence for very long?

<Nierad> I hate to be mean and nasty, but do axes have to be as dumb as dwarves?

<VerDir> I also got out of that Scrap with Kairune

* Gideon hums angrily at Nierad

<Auroch> Who do ye think makes axes?

* Kiran snickers

<Gideon> At least I'm not some pansy that skips around playing his harp

* Auroch laughs

<Gideon> Oooooo the feeling of blood again.

<Ver> I really don't care at this point

* Kairune grumbles and sits down

* Ver sympathizes with Kairune

<Nierad> but if you send Kairune to ask a dragon kindly to burn it

<Gideon> Hah!  You don't have a forge hot enough to melt me

* Auroch looks at the axe

<Ver> Let's get moving!

<Sirin> maybe we could drop it in lava

* Kiran nearly falls over laughing

* Nierad whispers to Kiran 'Dwarves and their weapons..."

* Nierad makes his harp's strings shoot out, and grabs the axe

* Gideon flips around and cuts the stings in mid air

<Nierad> auroch

<Gideon> Hah!

* Sirin wonders if the axe can fly

<Zeke> He threatened me!

* Auroch pushes Nierad dangerously close to the cliff

<Ver> Look, Zeke, if that is your name right?  Let's drop this now and get going

* Zeke narrows his eyes

<Auroch> How'd ye like te go over too?

* Kiran sighs

* Gideon alters his structure to 10x his own weight and can't be moved further

<Ver> Take things as they come along

<Kiran> I am about to push the LOT of you over!

<Ver> If there be dragons, then there be ddragons

<Nierad> the axe doesn't want to be move

<Auroch> Ye lost me axe!

<Ver> We'll deal with it

* Ver remembers the Dracolich and shudders

* Nierad quickly rolls over

<Zeke> ....

<Ver> Let it stay, it will not get to taste any blood if we leave it

* Zeke stares at Kiran

* Nierad the cut strings shatter into pieces and the remaining ones reform in the harp

* Kiran grabs her pack and ties off a rope and begins to climb down the cliff

<Kairune> What authority do you have?

<Ver> Then stay with your axe

<Kiran> I am leaving!

* Zeke follows Kiran

* Nierad follows Kiran

<Auroch> I will go wherever I have te

<Ver> I'm going with her

* Sirin flys after them

<Gideon> Just cause I'm a weapon dosen't mean I'm helpless Nierad.  Remember that.

* Auroch looks at Gideon

* Ver follows Kiran

<Auroch> So what do we do now?

<Kairune> leave

* Ver lets out a slight smile

<Nierad> yeah well just cause you are a weapon does not mean I can't destroy you

<Kairune> i want off of this rock

<Auroch> Aye, but how?

* Kiran waits at the base of the cliff for the others

<Gideon> Pick me up and lets go.

* Auroch picks up the axe

* Nierad jumps down to a small edge, and jumps down again, he goes down the same way he got up there

<Ver> So where are we headed?

* Auroch begins walking after the group

* Zeke leaps and crawls his way off the mountain, glad to be far away from dragons

* Kiran shrugs

<Kiran> I came along to get new armor and a sword.

<Auroch> Do ye have any powers te get us down/

* Kairune looks down in astonishment at how fast they descended

<Auroch> ?

<Gideon> Me?

<Auroch> Yeah, ye!

* Kairune chuckles

<Gideon> I'm an axe!  How am I supposed to get you down?

* Kiran turns and looks up at the cliff

* Ver sets up a rope and repels down the mountain

* Kairune laughs

<Kiran> Auroch!!! Hurry up you old goat!

<Auroch> I don't know, ye could fly us down!

* Nierad whispers to Kiran "Great... now I have to deal with a smart mouth weapon and Kairune..."

* Auroch grumbles

<Ver> Like this!

* Sirin flys down the mountain

* Auroch starts climbing down the mountain

* Kairune follows

* Auroch has trouble finding footholds with his wee feet

<Nierad> Gideon better have not damaged my harp

<Kiran> That weapon and Kairune with end up argueing with each other  I think.

* Ver bounces backwards as he squints his eyes

* Gideon streaches, causing the axe blade to expand and then contract

<Auroch> Ye'd better not've damaged Gideon!

<Gideon> He couldn't damage me on his best day

* Auroch is halfway down

* Ver rolls his eyes

<Auroch> Good

* Nierad makes the strings shoot out and grab Auroch and pushes him quickly down

* Auroch is proud of his fancy axe

* Ver countinues to repel down the side of the mountain

<Auroch> E1

* Sirin stretches as he waits for them at the bottom

* Auroch looks at Gideon

* Nierad recalls the strings

<Auroch> Ye know, I don't like that harp

<Nierad> and I don't like that sword

<Kairune> me niether

* Ver snickers

<Auroch> Bah!

<Nierad> or axe

<Auroch> It's an axe!

<Nierad> or whatever you want to call it Auroch

<Zeke> i thought it was a sword

<Gideon> Would you rather a sword?

* Zeke winks at Auroch

<Ver> Artifacts can have dire effects if they are used incorrectly you know...

<Ver> Be careful with your axe and that harp you too

* Kiran grins

<Gideon> Well........I could become a sword.  I like to stay as an axe though.  It's my natural form.

* Kairune stares at the axe

* Auroch thinks about that

<Ver> They may be powerful, but just be wary

<Gideon> My owners only shrivel and die because of their own stupidity

<Gideon> How do you people stay together?  I've seen goblins who treat their slaves better.

* Ver smiles as he sees the sun fade away

* Zeke frowns at Ver

* Auroch wonders why it has gotten so dark this early

* Ver looks at Zeke and shakes his head

* Ver grabs his poisoned dagger and shoves it in the foot or the Roc

* Nierad is stuck on the side of the mountain

* Kairune grabs all the branches and leave he can and piles them up

* Auroch grabs the harp

<Gideon> Well maybe if you would swing me some.

* Ver continuously stabs the Roc

* Roc drops them onto the nest

* Roc is hurt in the claw

<Nierad> unless I can find a ledge to jump onto

* Auroch tries to swing the axe

* Ver draws his Katana and runs toward Zeke

* Kairune piles some more leaves

* Gideon tears into the rock though is hardly effective on the large creature

* Kairune grumbles

* Auroch sticks his hand in the bloody wound

<Nierad> I think Gideon was fine there

<Auroch> Where're ye?

* Ver hacks at the carcass looking for Gideon

* Kiran makes a face and stands back

<Gideon> I heard that bard!  I'm somewhere in the gizard

* Nierad shoots the string toward the corpse

* Ver mutters "Never again..."

<Gideon> I think

* Auroch grabs the axe, his hand covered in blood

<Nierad> maybe my strings will find it

* Auroch pulls Gideon out

<Auroch> Leave that harp away from him!

* Nierad recalls the strings

<Gideon> Wooo!  That was more fun then I've had since I can remember!

<Auroch> I'll bet!

* Kairune grumbles

<Nierad> fun?

<Auroch> First ye fall, then ye get shot into a giant bird!

<Nierad> well it was kinda good

* Zeke wakes up

<Gideon> Just another day in the life of a spectacular weapon such as myself

* Nierad sighs deeply, and thinks "I cannot have a death feed breakdown now..."

* Ver backs away from Zeke

* Auroch agrees with the axe

* Zeke cringes, still injured in his hand and foot

* Zeke forces himself up

<Nierad> awake already zeke?

* Zeke leans against a tree

* Nierad turns around

* Auroch walks over to Zeke

* Zeke frowns at the bard

<Auroch> How're ye doin?

* Ver remembers the Vambraces and what happened to him after he over used them

* Zeke mutters something about the lousy inconsiderate humans...

* Zeke nods at Auroch

* Kiran glares at Zeke

<Zeke> fine...

<Gideon> You know if anyone wants a souvenir they better go grab a feather

<Auroch> I'm glad

<Kiran> I heard that....

<Auroch> Why? what's gonna happen to them?

<Zeke> Well it's true

<Ver> Bah...

<Zeke> I've never met a decent human

<Kiran> Fine, I risk myself for you and I am a lousy human?

* Nierad looks at Zeke in surprise

<Auroch> There are a few, but we dwarves are better!

<Ver> Hey, I saved your butt there.

<Kiran> I should have let you burn in the nest!

<Zeke> heh, risk

<Ver> I could have let you die

<Zeke> you should've

<Auroch> Yer the one that poisoned him!

<Zeke> It wouldn’t' make any difference

<Ver> Accident

* Kiran stalks off towards the bird

<Nierad> that can still be accomplished Zeke

<Ver> a flying target

* Kiran angrily yanks out a few feathers

* Auroch thinks Gideon is right, and runs to get a few feathers

<Zeke> Your threats mean nothing

* Auroch looks at the axe

<Nierad> the Saris never accept help, and never show gratitude

<Zeke> I have nothing to lose, bard

<Auroch> yer still dirty, i'd better clean ye

<Gideon> Aye that I am.

* Auroch wipes Gideon on the ground, cleaning him off

* Kairune growls at Zeke

<Auroch> Now fer that feather

* Kairune pushes the saris to the ground

<Kairune> worthless cat, get on then!

<Kairune> go away

<Gideon> You know I could use a good oiling next time your in town.

* Auroch picks a pretty one up, and tries to shove it into his pack

<Auroch> Ye got it!

* Zeke glares at Kairune

* Nierad gets a flashback, to his own home on the Baranok mountains, skulls and bones around

* Nierad seems to be staring at nothing

<Gideon> Looks like you've got a fight forming stumpy.

* Nierad remembers when he fought a group of adventurers

* Auroch wonders what they're going to do next

<Auroch> Ye think so?

<Auroch> Maybe we'd better do something

* Nierad screams a terrifying shout and kneels down

* Kiran jumps in surprise and runs towards Nierad

<Kiran> What's wrong???

* Nierad is breathing hard

<Nierad> some... some unneeded memories...

* Ver looks in surprise at Nierad

* Kairune grumbles

* Sirin looks at Nierad

<Auroch> Hmmm

<Kiran> Are you okay?

<Nierad> you want to be one of them Kairune?!?!

* Nierad shouted in anger

* Kairune chuckles

<Gideon> Yep a fight's brewing.  I can feel it.

<Kiran> Nierad.... look at me.

<Ver> Back off Nierad

<Nierad> I can't...

<Auroch> What do ye think we should do?

<Kairune> I wont fight a boy

* Kiran puts a calming hand on his arm

<Nierad> you must be fighting one everyday inside you Kairune

<Gideon> Find the aggressor and take him out.

* Kairune snickers

<Nierad> one that keeps your true feelings hidden

<Auroch> That's probably Nierad

<Kairune> quiet

<Nierad> why?

<Gideon> Wouldn't hurt my feelings any.

<Kiran> Auroch, take Kairune over to that side.

<Nierad> do I speak your truth?

<Auroch> Why? Why not?

<Kairune> bah

<Auroch> An aggressor can speak the truth

* Ver lurches and looks at the ground

<Nierad> I am sorry Kiran...

<Ver> I'll be right back

<Nierad> but I must be alone for a moment

<Ver> huugggggggggnnnnnnnnn

* Ver runs off

* Nierad stands up

<Nierad> I'll meet you again Kiran, but for a couple of moments I must get my head straight

<Gideon> Well there we go.  One breakdown after another.

* Nierad runs off

* Ver climbs up into the Roc nest and eyes one of the goats

* Kiran nods and smiles sadly at Nierad

* Zeke takes out a few cloths

<Auroch> Aye, and they said ye'd be the one te destroy me

* Zeke bandages his wounds

* Ver paralyzes it with his psionics and drinks

* Nierad is at the edge of a cliff

* Kiran sighs and sits down on a fallen log

* Auroch sits down beside her

* Zeke growls and fidgets with his bandages

<Auroch> It's been a strange day, no?

* Ver finishes drinking from it and walks back toward the group wiping the blood from his lips

* Kiran nods

* Zeke glares at Ver

* Zeke narrows his eyes

<Kiran> Everyone hates each other it seems.

* Zeke shrugs and continues healing himself

<Auroch> Aye

<Auroch> How'd we get so far when everyone hates each other?

* Nierad notices a scorpion crawling out of a rock

* Kiran shrugs

<Kairune> Hmmph

<Kiran> Luck I think.

* Nierad grabs the rock and throws it

<Auroch> I guess

* Kairune gets hit in the head with a rock

<Auroch> Do me a favor, if I ever get mean to ye, stop me

<Kairune> OUCH!!

* Nierad sees the scorpion's babies, white, six or seven of them

* Kairune grumbles

<Gideon> Or better yet ask me to stop him.

<Kiran> You know perfectly well, if you get mean to me I will smack you.

<Auroch> slap me, hit me, knock me around

* Auroch grins

* Kiran grins

<Auroch> Thanks!

<Kiran> Hrm

* Nierad steps on the babies, and crushes the scorpion

<Kiran> Kairune, what are you hollering about?

* Nierad thinks to himself "why must I feed on the sight of death?"

<Kairune> A rock fell from the hill...

* Nierad notices a small flower

<Auroch> strange

<Kiran> It is a cliff…

<Kairune> well whatever…

* Nierad touches the flower

* Auroch wonders which is the way back to Delur

* Nierad pulls it out and crushes it in his hand

* Nierad opens his fist and sees the ruined petals

* Nierad throws them at the wind

<Kiran> What now?

* Nierad runs back to the group

<Auroch> I say we rest here  awhile, then we head back to town

* Kiran nods

* Nierad notices the group

* Zeke growls and tears at the bandages with his teeth

<Kiran> Zeke what is wrong!

* Zeke finally bandages his wounds

<Nierad> I had to be alone for a while...

* Kiran smiles at Nierad

<Zeke> Nothing. just bandaging

* Nierad smiles faintly at Kiran

<Kiran> You never did ask how I knew how to read elfish.

* Kiran grins

<Auroch> How is that Kiran?

<Nierad> well a person such as yourself must be smart

<Kiran> I was born in Roscen.

<Nierad> Roscen? where is that?

<Kiran> Raised with both humans and elves.

<Auroch> ahhh

<Kiran> West coast

<Kiran> Its beautiful country.

<Nierad> all the way on the other side of Istaria?

* Kiran nods

* Zeke sighs

* Kiran yawns

<Auroch> Remember the time we met Kiran?

<Nierad> we have to rest

* Kiran grins

<Kiran> Aye I do Auroch.

* Zeke isn’t tired

<Kairune> Then rest bard.

<Auroch> Zeke, ye were just saved from death!

<Kairune> we don’t need to hear yer whinin

<Zeke> I don’t care...

* Nierad waves Kairune off

* Nierad sits down by a rock

* Kairune grumbles

* Kiran sighs

<Kiran> They are at it again.

* Nierad begins playing a song slowly

<Auroch> Aye

* Ver watches

<Gideon> One big happy family.

<Auroch> Do I have te step between ye?

<Kiran> Heh, something like that.

<Kairune> bah

* Nierad closes his eyes

<Gideon> Send them to their rooms?

* Nierad plays more emotionally

<Auroch> Aye, were it so easy

* Kairune glares at Gideon

* Kiran snickers

* Zeke scratches the ground with his claw

<Gideon> So how did the two of you meet?

* Ver sticks a dagger in the ground

* Auroch looks at Kiran

<Kiran> Killing a dragon.

<Auroch> Ye wanna tell this one?

* Kiran grins

* Zeke takes out some tools

<Gideon> You hardly look like a professional dragon killer.

<Kiran> I met him and a few others on the road out of Glimmel.

<Kiran> I hardly look like alot of things I am.

<Auroch> We've killed three of them easily enuf!

* Kiran grins

<Nierad> you were caught by a dragon Gideon

* Auroch laughs

<Auroch> We weren't alone

* Ver shudders as he remembers the Dracolich under Cliffside

<Gideon> I was caught by nothing.  My owner got himself killed.

* Auroch looks at Gideon

<Auroch> What?

* Kiran notices Ver

<Kiran> You ok?

<Gideon> Not my fault he didn't know what he could take on and what he couldn't

<Ver> yeah

<Ver> fine

<Auroch> I won't be doin that!

<Kairune> if you're so powerful why weren’t you able to help him?

<Auroch> E's just an axe, ye know!

<Kairune> bah

<Kairune> apparently

<Auroch> E's not got super powers!

<Gideon> Oh sure.  Expect the weapon to make the man eh Kairune?

<Nierad> I wonder if a dwarf is drunk enough he would fight with a chair

<Kairune> you seem to have more will than most warriors i konw

<Kairune> thats all

<Auroch> Depends on how drunk, and how big the chair

* Gideon hums in laughter at Auroch

* Kiran grins thinking of Auroch fighting a chair

<Kiran> I am gonna get some rest guys.

* Nierad chuckles slightly

<Auroch> Aye, that's a good idea m'dear

<Nierad> I agree, got to get some rest

* Auroch starts to set up camp

* Zeke curls up next to a tree

* Kairune sits down next to a fire

* Auroch says G'night to his axe before he falls asleep

<Gideon> Don't worry.  I'll keep watch.  I've had 100 years of sleep.  I don't need anymore.

<Nierad> but I've eaten rarely anything on the last three days

* Ver stays up

<Auroch> mm... okay...

<Nierad> so I'll go and hunt for some, I'll meet you here in the morning

* Kiran smiles

* Nierad waves to Kiran

* Zeke grumbles

* Auroch mumbles

<Nierad> good night my lady

* Nierad bows

<Kiran> Nite!

* Zeke growls

* Nierad runs off

* Kiran smiles at the group

<Kiran> Nite you guys. Dont kill each other while I sleep.

* Kairune grumbles and spits

* Auroch can't help but wonder if the group will recover from such a divisive day
