| THE PRC (THE PENTECOSTAL RESEARCH COLLECTION) & THE SCU ARCHIVES Established in the late 1960's under the direction of then president Scott Muse, the collection contains books on the history, theology, and outreach of Pentecostalism. The collection has a mission to support the curriculum of the university. Historically significant,or rare and fragile items, have been transferred to the IPHC Archives and records Center for preservation. A list of rweb resources for the study of pentecostalism can be found on the SCU Library Blog. The Library Commons sponsors a special project to encourage use of the resources called "Pentecostal Footnotes". Students, faculty and guests are encouraged to utilize the resources to produce research papers that will be added to the collection. These will also contribute to the history of pentecostalism and the IPHC. Possible areas of research include: -History of the development of education in Pentecostalism -Issues of early Pentecostalism -Pentecostalism and Social Problems -The Role of Women in Pentecostalism -The Role of Pastors in Pentecostalism -Early Mission Efforts -Early writers and scholars -Statistical Studies of Growth & Expansion Visit the library blog for links to other research centers and for information about pentecostalism. The SCU Archives contains yearbooks, photos, and other items related to the history of the school. |
