Electric Bicycle issues in California
This page is dedicated to the design and construction of small Bikes and skateboards.

I'm currently working on a E-bicycle adaptation to my mountain bike.  My last project (above) is a 3.5 HP electric, 24 volt skateboard.  Depending on the drive sproket, It will go about 28 MPH and has a range of 45 min.  A steel cable and short piece of handlebar allow the rider something to hang on to.  The board will out accelerate most small cars!

Photos of electric bike which uses a conventional bike rack, two 24V counter rotating truck fan motors (surplus from EV Warrior bicycle) which drive a friction roller via a sprauge, a Curtis controller and four 12 volt, 12 amp hour batteries (two shown).  The motor is clamped to the rack using automotive coil spring "helpers" from Pep Boys.
