ABOUT BETSY.....
Betsy White first visited Cozumel,
the drift-diving capital of the world, 13 years ago, more by accident
than anything else. After experiencing the magical and mesmerizing
coral reefs surrounding this tropical island paradise, she returned
to the states, packed her two labrador retrievers, a bicycle and
a duffle bag or three into her Toyota pick up, headed south and
never looked back.
Fitting into a lifestyle on an island off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula came easy. Betsy grew up along the east coast of the USA, lived in the French speaking region of Switzerland for 18 years, graduated from Duke University, and has also called Alaska, Utah and Colorado home. Affectionately known as "Pepsi" by many locals, and with thousands of dives under her (weight!) belt, she is happiest sharing her love and infatuation for the crystal clear turquoise waters and the magic and mysteries of the sea.

Betsy holds the ranking of Master Scuba Diver Trainer with the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI). Her goal as an instructor, besides educating new divers in proper procedure and making sure they feel comfortable in this new environment, is to promote awareness for ALL divers, from novice to experienced. With an unblemished safety record to her credit, her briefings, which emphasize the need to preserve this fragile part of the planet, are thorough and calming to apprehensive divers. Betsy fosters a code of etiquette and respect for guests to follow while in this world of wonder because she is acutely aware of the effect divers have and the damage they can cause to the reef and its inhabitants. Not only will she share tips, techniques , and advice for prolonging bottom time, she will also introduce you to the cast of undersea characters she visits each day and calls friends......her affection for her aquatic buddies is truly contagious!!
