My taste in music is pretty eclectic. I like everything from Mozart to Sisqo. If you couldn't tell already, my favorite artist is Sheryl Crow. She's just plain awesome. She is my role model, the person I look up to. Her music makes my day go a bit better when things aren't going my way. Click on the picture to go to her official webpage. And don't forget to check out my Sheryl link as well. Right now it's all pictures but that will soon change.
In the summer of 1999, August 18th to be exact, I went to the Indianapolis Lilith Fair. I saw Deborah Cox, Liz Phair, Sheryl Crow, and of course Sarah McLachlan. But the one group that really made it's impression on the midwestern town was the Dixie Chicks. I hadn't really heard their music before but before the concert was over I was dancing and yelling with the rest of them. Now I can't get enough of the derned Sin Wagon.
Lately I've been finding myself growing fond of guitar based music. I love the sound of a good guitar. Blues music has really struck my fancy in the past few months. I've bought a few Eric Clapton cds as well as a box set of blues classics. I've also downloaded some music by B. B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Now those are some guitar gods right there. And we can't forget Bonnie Raitt, the best slide guitarist around.
Melissa Etheridge ain't no piece of chopped liver either. She can rock with the best of 'em.
I'm also a bit of a musician myself. I played the clarinet for six years, seventh grade through twelfth. Music was my life throughout high school. I was involved in the marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, and pep band. Music is how I met all of my friends, especially Jaimie and Crystal. I have also been playing the acoustic guitar for three years now. I love it! It's the one thing that I never get tired of doing. Oh, and for a little plug, if you live in the Terre Haute, Indiana area, look up Cindy Bastian in the phone book. She's an awesome guitar instructor. She also gives lessons in piano, bass, mandolin, and banjo. I don't think I left anything out.
