| This information comes from a long-since declassified Navy Department report I got my hands on, showing vessels under construction, the progress being made, ad the anticipated completion date. Though it is dated two months after the rest of my 1939 info, I felt it would be appropriate to include it here to provide a more complete picture of the growing Navy. Just as a side note, nearly all of these vessels would be completed ahead of the anticipated date due to the greater urgency given shipbuilding in 1940. An italicized completion date indicates that, for various reasons, delays were anticipated. |
