sCrUBS Lose Opener! Thanks to sCrUB reliever Jeff Fassero for hitting 3 Cincinnati Reds in 1 2/3 innings, sending the sCrUBBIES to their 1st of many losses in the '02 season. You made my day buddy! To top the day off, my White Sox beat Seattle in their opener. All is right in the world again!

ALOU TO DL! The sCrUBS signed 36 year old Moises Alou to a 3 year, $27 million deal this offseason & he has yet to take a regular season at bat for them. This doesn't exactly come as a surprise to anyone, as "Alou-zer" has missed a total of 224 games over the past 3 seasons. You can now start adding to that total!

LONG INNING! Donovan Osborne entered the game in the 3rd after Jason Bere was shelled for 7 runs in 2 2/3 innings. Osborne got the sCrUBS out of the 3rd tied with the Expos 7-7. That was the end of Osborne's success. In the bottom of the 4th he was lit up for 6 hits, a walk & 7 runs. Nice job Donovan!

WHAT WOOD HAVE BEEN Kerry Wood (2-2) was wild for a second straight start, walking seven and giving up five runs and five hits in 5 1-3 innings. "It's ridiculous," said Wood, who also had elbow ligament replacement surgery and missed the entire 1999 season. "Lack of control, lack of concentration. The ball was all over the place and that's your result." He walked Dave Roberts leading off the fifth, Izturis chipped a double into left and then Wood hit Paul Lo Duca to load the bases. Green, in a 1-for-13 slump, then hit a two-run single to right. After an infield single by Eric Karros, Beltre's sacrifice fly made it 3-0. With one out in the sixth, Roberts walked for the third time, stole second and scored on another Izturis double, making it 4-0 and finishing Wood.
