Hidden Rainbow

Rain falls softly on the grass below
The smell of wet leaves invades my nose
I shudder, thinking of lonliness
Rain keeps falling, soaking the pavement
My hair is damp, my soul soaking
I ponder, living on another day inches from dispare
My strength is greater than I imagine
The clouds above are hardly noticeable
It seems as if they were layed out intentionally
Only to cover the blue sky and bright sun
I alone, seem to know what lays beneath the blanket
If only I could penetrate through the thickness
And gaze upon the sun
The happiness I was once so familiar with
The rain is softer now
It seems as if it will end soon
When it does, the clouds will open
The sun will shine through, warming the ground below
The rain has now ceased
Ending my feelings of hopelessness
I am left with a peculiar sense of contentment
One that I am sure I will never understand
