Maureen vanTuylSpending the summers in Europe, based out of Paris, France, California's Maureen VanTuyl, who is a teacher in the San Diego school system, also lends her scribing expertise when needed at international shows.

A veteran Dressage scribe of the 1996 Olympic Games, vanTuyl is a favorite of show organizers and judges alike, and can often be spotted in the judges' booth next to some of the most important international judges in Dressage.

When Uwe Spenlen, organizer of Bad Honnef Dressage and an international judge himself learned vanTuyl would be in Europe for the summer months, he invited her to come to his show, held June 30 through July 2. She scribed for Mary Seefried, the Australian judge who will be officiating at The 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
