[CHAT] Kalo says, "Hmm. Something has occured to me. Generally, it seems that the preys contact the preds first, like boys asking girls out to the dance. Or is that just a racist assumption? ... Speciesist? Dietist?"
[CHAT] Jevin says, "I've contacted Torrle and vise versa several times, and I have two pets for eating, Tannlore and Sparky, the times I have had things to do have been pretty even with the asking."

[CHAT] Monolith says, "An therein lies the problem.  Everyone thinks preds here are tied up and busy.  Really, we're not.   Everyone just -thinks- that.  So most of us never do anything.  An yes, the preys do tend to ask the preds!  Think of it.. without that.. every pred alive would just gobble anything that moved!  None of us would get anything done around here.  :}"

[CHAT] Jevin says, "perhaps we can and by we I mean the people who know MUCK code better than me :) set up a system where you can hunt/find prey kind of like the slave system where furs can become owned, except there's no ownership, that specific fur is simply part of the normal diet of others, making it easy to depict who WANTS to be eaten and then who doesn't/people that aren't sure. Basically trying to make it easier for people to tell who/what can/will be eaten in what way, and trying to form a relationship between the two or more to encourage more paly"

[CHAT] Kalo says, "Basically, to check who's a pred and who's not, you have to go down the WHO listing, typing vp person_1, vp person_2, vp person_3... and scan through a long list for the one line of info you want. VP is awesome, don't get me wrong."

[CHAT] Jevin says, "not only an issue with finding a match, but an issue of leniency, your not going to get exactly everything you want in an RP, granted you don't have to do anything you don't want to do, but if you don't let something go, then you won't get anything in return."
[CHAT] Jevin says, "now if you hate doing what someone is asking there's a reason IMO, but otherwise, if it's not that painful, then try it or don't whine when there's no one to do anything. Not to be mean."

[CHAT] Leena says, "I think that on a Muck devoted primarily to Vore, anything that more clearly defines the "pred, prey, or both" question is something that bears looking into.  I would support any means of more easily finding people you are looking for, even if it's a WHO flag or someting.  I can do a "who kalo" to find out his gender, species... why not whether he's pred or prey (or both?)"
[CHAT] Monolith says, "Well, something else that gets in the way, an I see this -way- too often."
[CHAT] Monolith says, "A prey that does everything they can to get you to do something with them.. an then doesn't say anything in response to you for anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes at a time.  That really turns preds off.  It takes a few hours to finish a scene proper as it is.  :P"

[CHAT] Leena says, "As far as the VP function goes, some sort of "basic VP" function would be great - if you're a prey and someone isn't willing to be a pred, then anything beyond the pred: never/opposed is pointless."

[CHAT] Shirra_Whitefur hasn't done much with soul vore, since most people consider that ways to end up with 'Final Death' RP's where they stop playing their characters.  "So it tends to get a 'taboo' sorta issue from a lot o' folk."

[CHAT] Monolith says, "It's a tad annoying to have a service like vp around, an then find out that about a quarter or more of the residents here don't even have an accurate listing.  Or even worse, a listing completely different than what they really like/dislike."

We'd have a vp with enough fields to match the number of preys/preds here!  But then.. it seems adding -something- may just help, -provided- people set it accurately!"

[CHAT] Monolith says, "Not setting male partner Ask first or similarly non setting, but then turning around and happily playing with males.  That's an example."

[CHAT] Leena says, "But I believe that finding preds is only part of the problem.  Another part of the problem is when preys unknowingly causing preds to "go underground", so to speak.  (And this is not to make anyone feel bad, just as an example), when I log on, and I get pages from two people I know and chat with often, and half a dozen from others I don't know or talk to regularly, but I just KNOW are preys looking for a scene, and whom ask for one within at most three pages.  I at times dread logging on, because of the ambush that is often waiting, especially on peak hours."

I've been pretty flexible in my plays and probably get pages from people I've seen either 1. in other MUCKs, people I know, or 2 I've met here when I began."

[CHAT] Yerua says, "...On the other hand, yes, I understand the problem of not wanting to come on because of a few given people. There have been days when I connect guest guest, do a quick WHO, and decide given the present population I really might rather not be about..."
[CHAT] Shirra_Whitefur uses page #ignore when someone doesn't -listen- to saying, "I need some space, -don't- pounce me right when I come on, especially for scening.".  If you talk to them first like that, and they keep at it, page #ignoring is understandable an' viable. ;)
[CHAT] Monolith chuckles an has had discussions like that with miss whitefur for a -long- time.  His opinion is that page #ignoring someone is more a last-resort kind of thing.. an that people should be given ample chance to work out problems.. not just run away from every one that exists.  :P
[CHAT] Torrle nods with Shirra, "Yeah, I tend to be pretty blunt to those I really don't want to scene with, if they're being so cluelessly desperate.
[CHAT] Leena says, "it's not intentional on their part, they probably don't even realize that it's causing a problem.  And many times not that I mind getting pages from new people, or having someone request to do a scene, it's logging on and trying to respond to eight people at the same time.  If the same amount of people contacted me over the course of an hour, I'd be completely fine with it"

[CHAT] Torrle did a 3way scene earlier today that worked really well, actually.  Just set up a posting order and everyone knows when to pose.  Any problems are encouraged to be ooc'd so others know of delays.
[CHAT] Leena says, "I usually update my Status when I'm looking for a scene... anything but LRP, and I'm either not interested, am already in one, or am in the midst of negotiating a scene."

Not to mention all the server work of referencing your commands.  Less you wanted the server to store a table to lookup your aliases against the real commands.. which again makes the DB huge.  GAH!"
