| Well, let's face it - 99% of popular music is crap. I mean, we live in a world where Westlife, Steps, SClub 7, So Solid Crew, AllStars, Oxide & Neutrino etc etc all get into the Top 10! Where's the justice in that?!?! So in order to educate the world, I've complied a list of my favourite bands, which will hopefully persuade just one person to give this music a go and help put a stop to crappy mainstream rubbish. I recommend that you download some of the music that I include here (by the way, I am a firm believer in downloading songs of the 'net and the only people who are against it are greedy business men in suits.) | I once heard somebody describe Less Than Jake as "a cross between Greenday and Madness", well I'm not sure about that, but I do know that they are brilliant! LTJ are a punk/ska band from Gainsville, Florida and are my favourite band of all time. Their songs are high-energy and fun, as well as having interesting, thought-provocing and relevant lyrics. | Bif Naked is a Canadian singer. I first heard her when she performed "Lucky" on an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She is definitely, in my opinion, the greatest female singer around today. She has an amazing voice, writes brilliant songs and just, well, rocks! The great thing about Bif is that she has some really fast, loud rockin' songs, but also some really beautiful slow tunes too. | It's pretty difficult to describe Big Dumb Face's sound. It's really different and unique. Some people don't like it, which is fine for them, but personally I think they're great! They're fronted by Wes Borland, who writes, sings and plays pretty much all of it. It also features some other guys such as Wes's brother Scott Borland. By the way, for anyone who's interested, BDF were Wes's Limp Bizkit side project when he was still with the band. Now he's left LB, apparently he's changing BDF's name to Eat The Day and is going to start fresh. He says its going to be a bit more serious than the BDF album 'Duke Lion Fights The Terror!!', so I'm looking forward to it. Big Dumb Face songs I recommend... | Jimmy Eat World |
| It's possible that you might have heard of Jimmy Eat World. They've just released a song called 'The Middle' which has been played on MTV. Anyway, Jimmy Eat World are an American rock band (as most decent bands are). They are sort of similar to Goo Goo Dolls (if you know who they are) and are very good. Their latest CD 'Bleed American' is a really cool mix of beautiful slow tunes and faster ones. Jimmy Eat World songs I recommend...
