Soon after SCREAM hit theaters in december of 1996, Kevin Williamson began immediately working on the follow up, SCREAM 2. This sequel was completed and in theaters by december of 1997. SCREAM 2 was nearly as successful as the first movie breaking the $100 million mark.
Two years after Sidney Prescott (Neve Cambell) experienced the first set of murders, she finally moves on with her life. Sidney is now attending Windsor College along with old friend Randy (Jamie Kennedy). Once the murders start happening again, Dewey Riley (David Arquette), Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) and Cotton Weary (Liev Schriber)show up at the college and ultimately end up helping sidney solve the case once again.
