Word Placement
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
You can have the biggest vocabulary in the world, but if you don't have the strategies and skills to place the words in the right spot, your game will be limited.

Look for hooks.  A hook is a letter added to the front or the back of an existing word to make a new word.  With this move, you can make two words at the same time.  For example, you can add an 's' to the back or front of 'car' to make 'cars' or 'scar.'

Keep in mind the premium squares.  There are 4 kinds of premium squares. The light blue square is double letter score.  The dark blue square is triple letter score.  The pink square is double word score.  The red square is triple word score.  For letters worth more than 5 points, try to place them on the double or triple letter score.  If you have a blank, use that to extend your word to reach a double or triple word score.

For a rare, but excellent scoring play, make a BINGO over a triple word score while hooking to another word.  It has happened before.  My friend Tiffanie scored 101 points on one word.  Very impressive.
