My passion for words began when I was about 12 years old. Whenever I'd visit my grandmother in Indiana, she'd set me on her lap and we'd do the newspaper crossword together. I've always been a reader (I began reading at the age of 4) so words came easily to me. She gave me a crossword dictionary that summer when I went home and thus began my obsession. I switched from crosswords to variety word puzzles (Penny Press and Dell) through High School.
From there, I moved to Scrabble (c). It all started when my dad kept winning, despite my post-high school vocabulary. It was frustrating. So I decided to practice, with the help of my friend, Tiff. We had a Scrabble game going literally all the time. We used a travel board, so whenever we had to stop, we could continue later. The next summer, I found a website (The Internet Scrabble Club) that allowed me to play other Scrabble (c) enthusiasts online. It was there that I began to improve and develop the necessary vocabulary to succeed in Scrabble (c). For more info on how you can improve your score by as much as 50 points per game, click here.

For my birthday, my parents bought me a new board. It's the collector's edition. It comes in a glass and wood case and the tiles are 14-karat gold plated. It even comes with a certificate of authentication.
Now, I can play Scrabble (c) in 6 different ways; Travel Scrabble (c), normal Scrabble (c), Deluxe Scrabble (c), Collector's Edition Scrabble (c), CDROM Scrabble (c), and Internet Scrabble (c).
