STAMPED CANDLES
Supply List
- One candle, any size or color
- Tissue paper (used in present wrapping), preferrably white or cream color
- Stamp
- Stamp Ink Pad
- Wax Paper
- Heat Tool (used in embossing)
- Micro-Tipped Sicssors
- Raffia or Ribbon, as desired to decorate the candle.
Step 1 - Stamp your image onto your tissue paper.  Then color image, if desired.
Step 2 - Using micro-tipped scissors, cut out your image as closely to the edge.  You want as little excess paper on your stamp as possible.
Step 3 - Position your stamped image onto your candle.  Take your piece of waxed paper and cover the image.
Step 4 - Using your heating tool,  gently heat the area over your image.  It is best to use a circular motion over the image so as to not melt the candle in one area.  You will notice that the wax from the candle will appear slightly liquid.  Discontinue heat, and using gentle pressure with your finger, push the edges of the image to make sure they have been melted slightly.  Be careful with this step as too much pressure on the candle could result in deformation of the candle.
Step 5 - Wait a second or two before removing the wax paper.  When removing, slowly peel the paper away from the stamped image.
Notes -
- You may do these steps multiple times for different images.
- Any sized candle can be used.  When using taper candles or thinner candles, be aware that because you've used a paper image, your image may flare slightly when the flame melts down far enought to reach image.  I have not heard of this causing anymore of a fire danger than a candle has in general but it is nice to be aware of it.
- Any color candle can be used but results on darker colored wax may not produce dramatic enough results, making the image harder to see.
- Using glitter on your image before applying the candle will not ruin the glitter effect.  However, be aware, depending on the type of glitter used, the glitter and paper  may flare slightly when the flame is low enough to reach the image.  I would use caution when using glittered images on thinner candles.
- A similar process can be used to apply rhinestones or sequins, just melt the wax of the candle before applying.
- You may also apply embossed images in this manner, and is an especially good way of applying stamped images to darker colored candles.
