| This Page tells you some information I have collected of the famous series I Dream Of Jeannie, and Barbara Eden. The series was created by a man named Sidney Sheldon in the year 1964. The show ran for five seasons ending in 1970, with 137 episodes. The main-cast were as follows: Jeannie-Barbara Eden, Major Nelson-Larry Hagman, Major Healey-Bill Daily, and Dr. Bellows-Hayden Rorke. The first season was in black&white with 30 episodes. The next 4 seasons were in colour. The bottle in the first season was gloss black with 24 k. gold leaf pattern. The next 4 seasons' bottle was purple with assorted patterns. Each season Jeannie's costume was changed a little bit, the set also changed each season. Two TV reunon movies were produced. The first movie was produced in 1985, called "I Dream Of Jeannie 15 Years Later", staring Barbara Eden as Jeannie, Bill Daily as Major Healey, and Hayden Rorke as Dr. Bellows. Major Nelson was played by Wayne Rogers.Larry Hagman did not star in this in this movie, the reason is still a mystery. The second movie was produced in 1990, called "I Still Dream Of Jeannie", staring Barbara Eden as Jeannie, Bill Daily as Major Healey, Hayden Rorke sadly passed away in 1988 before the second movie was made. Larry Hagman again did not star in this movie for some unknown reason. Major Nelson again was played by Wayne Rogers. Barbara Eden portrayed Jeannie beautifully in the series and in the TV movies. No one could replace her ever. There was supposed to have been another "I Dream Of Jeannie" movie to come out last year [2001]produced by Sid Ganis. Barbara Eden would've also stared in this movie NOT as Jeannie but as a cousin or friend. The reason for this is her age (too old). What ever! Jeannie would probably have been played by Lisa Kudrow of "Friends". E-mail me about who you think should/should have portray(ed) Jeannie. I will check into this soon to see if there actually will be another movie. Also E-mail me who you think is more powerful Jeannie or Samantha?! Barbara will be turning 67 on August 23, 2002. Barbara also played Jeannie's sister(also named Jeannie but refered to as Evil Jeannie by IDOJ fans), and her mother twice. During the first season of I Dream Of Jeannie, Barbara was pregnet with her only son and child. Her husband at the time was Micheal Ansara who played the Blue Djinn. Her Costume had special veils to cover her belly. During I Dream Of Jeannie Barbara Eden had to cover her belly button with putty because in the 60s showing your navel on TV would be unheard of. Barbara Eden now lives happily in Beverly Hills California with her third husband real-estate developer Jon Eicholtz. Sadly, on June,25,2001, Barbara Eden's only son (Matt Ansara) died, possibly from an overdose. He was to be married on Sept.1, 2001.
