| Quarterly Maintenance Regular Quarterly Maintenance keeps your pipe organ in the best possible condition all twelve months of the year. Two major tunings are scheduled roughly six months apart one at the start of the Winter Heating Season and a second at the start of the Summer Cooling Season. Large portions of the organ are frequently repitched from season to season to match those sections of the organ that are more pitch-stable. This is especially true when a large portion of the organs pipework is exposed in a functional display within the church or when the organ is divided across the Chancel or between the front and rear of the church. Exposed pipework is frequently much cooler (or warmer) than the balance of the instrument (which may also be under expression) resulting in the tuning of the various divisions to float from season to season. Two additional touch-up tunings are also scheduled before Christmas and again, before Easter, to keep your pipe organ in its best voice for these important Festival Seasons. Key Benefits Pitch stability is greatly improved across the instrument; Makes the entire instrument useable throughout the entire year; Keeps the instrument in the best mechanical condition throughout the year; Pricing Kirk A. Wilson and Associates offers a flat rate for Service Work of $25 per rank. Travel is billed to the church at the rate of .37 per mile from our shop in Abbeville, SC to your church. Mechanical repairs are completed with prior approval in writing from the Client and are billed on a Time and Materials Basis. |
