About clorox...
I discovered the PLA accidentally one night in 1997 when I stumbled across
a PLA State Site. (The site was "PLA in PA," which is now defunct).
I found RBCP's site at www.phonelosers.org
by searching for the PLA. From there, I read all the PLA issues and
was hooked. I had actually thought of a lot of the same ideas on my
own before reading them in the 'zine, but it gave me an entirely different
outlook on hacking and phreaking. I got more involved in this, and
even managed to develop a few skills in the process.
At that time, there was a PLA state site for South Carolina, which was hosted
on xoom, which is now dead of course. Even when I read it, it hadn't
been updated in a while. When it eventually disappeared, I decided
to try to pick up the ball and give South Carolina phreaks a state site to
be proud of. I'm still working on that part (Phone Losers are characterizable
as lazy). I started this state site in 2001, and have tried to
gather and post as much local info as possible. I got a few email messages
from some of the other phreaks out there, but I've been a bit lazy in posting
their submissions. When I started this site, there were not any others
left for South Carolina. Now there are two, and I think that maybe
there are some phreaks here after all.
RBCP was my role model in the phreaker culture, so I claim South Carolina's
telco network in his honor. >:-)
