| There are about 20 Scouts in our troop all which are boys and 5 leaders/helpers who are also male. We meet weekly at the Scout Centre which is near St Andrew�s Church. A normal night would start off with flag break and inspection and then go to a couple of games, which we try and vary weekly. We also try and get a good amount of badge work, into the night. � We go on weekend camps regularly, including Expedition weekends, Patrol Weekends, Survival Weekends or even just a camp where we just play games or relax. We go on a weekly Summer Camp in August every year with a different venue each time. Activities at Summer Camp in the past have included; Rock Climbing, Sailing, Canoeing, Archery, Football, Air Rifle Shooting etc. Camps are great fun and going on them is definitely the best way to get the most out of scouts and enjoy yourself. But, it�s not just camps we go on. We have also have had a weekend in London leading a life of luxury in Baden Powell House. 1) No getting up early to make breakfast as a cooked and continental breakfast is served each morning. 2) No shivering in your sleeping bag as thick, clean sheets and mattresses are provided. And you�ll never get bored! It�s not just the fact of a weekend touring the capital, but computer games, a caf� and a presentation of the life of Baden Powell is in the accommodation itself. Baden Powell House definitely is the ideal place to stay, so if you haven�t gone then GO! Do you fancy joining a Scout Troop near you? I can't guarantee it'll be as good as ours but give it a go I'm sure you'll enjoy it! � |
