OUR ACTIVITIES
Troop 64 participates in a wide variety of activities.  In June they participated in the local Elks Lodge Flag Day ceremony.  Later that month they went on a backpacking trip to Cache Creek where they shared their space with the rattlesnakes.

July brought  a week at Camp Marin Sierra where all had fun and many merit badges were earned.  Congratulations to Ben and Brian S, on achieving the difficult Lifesaving certification. Merit badges worked on at camp were Small-Boat Sailing, Aviation, Citizenship in the Nation and World, Swimming, Rifle Shooting, Archery, Environmental Science, and First Aid.

In August the scouts were doing service activites.  Several of them helped at the local Cub Scout Day Camp, while others helped our charter organization clean up after their annual bazaar and/or at the Webelos overnighter.

September brought more outings.  Bear River was the location of the latest campout.  The following weekend the scouts headed to Contra Loma Regional Park for a campout designed to work on attaining rank and earning merit badges.

October found several of the scouts doing their 50 mile bike ride required for the cycling merit badge.  They also helped out at Pack 118's Halloween Party by organizing and running the haunted house.

Scouting for Food, the annual food drive, was the main November activity, but we also participated in the Al Zampa Bridge opening ceremonies and put flags on the veteran's grave at a local cemetery in honor of Veteran's Day.

December was busy as the troop went on its annual rain camping trip as well as passing out fliers for Christmas tree recycling.

We were still picking up Christmas trees in January.  The money raised from this activity is used to send the boys to summer camp.  This year Troop 64 is going back to Camp Mensinger.  Five of the more senior scouts, Kyle, Ben D., Kenny, J. J. and Brian H. provided the color guard for the Eagle Recognition dinner at the Elks Lodge.

At the February Court of Honor, the following scouts were recognized for rank advancement and/or merit badges. Brian S., Brice S., Ben D., Kenny, Sean, Patrick, and Brian H. Special recognition was given to Ben D. and Brian S. for receiving the Boy Scout Lifesaving Patch.
