Akel's Market, located in a seedy section of Pompano Beach, was one of the numerous businesses that the Miami faction of the Trafficante family used to launder more than $30 million dollars from various illegal enterprises. The faction was led by the late Steve "Uncle Steve" Raffa. The rest of the crew is going to trial in February of 2002.
