I am married to Gail, the love of my life and my often time running partner.
I live in San Antonio, Texas. I work for the University of Texas at San Antonio as a Researcher for the Development Office. Prior to that I had a 24-year career in the Air Force.
My running began in Turkey in 1983 when I was assigned there. My roomie was a vet runner and bet me a case of beer that I couldn't run with him. Oh, well, since I was out of beer anyway, .... ;). My first run was 3 miles with him (not exactly the correct way to start) at the end of which I promptly threw up. I started doing it right after that and the rest is history. In December 2001 I logged my 10,000th running lifetime mile.
I love dogs and can't seem to go on a run without meeting at least one. I often carry dog biscuit treats with me and share them with with my canine pals. Yep, you heard right. I occasionally snack on dog biscuits. I may not know the names of my neighbors but I know the names of their dogs! :D
I found the Forums in 1997 and have been here ever since. Lots of new friends, lots of encounters, lots of fun.
