On this date I decided to use Geocities to be my host website. I used Stormloader but there are way too many advertisements (on the free version) for me to bother.
So far it looks good, but this is not something I would normally talk about in a blog. I would talk about my life, family and how I am doing and where I would like to go in life. Yeah, that's what I would like to talk about.
But before I do that, I think I will go to bed.
Today is my mom's birthday! I called her at 9:32 AM. She is traveling back from Michigan with John, Ann, and Dad.
Also, today, we (Kimber, Levi, Lydia and I) traveled to Franklin Conservatory to see the train display. There was a lot more things going on than we thought. Lydia, being a teach, was able to obtain two free adult tickets, while we paid for Kimber's admittance. Along with the trains, there were story-time houses such as "Three Little Pigs." It was fun to see all that they created. And for the holidays, folks made Gingerbread houses; very elaborate!
Happy New Year, everybody! Congrats on making it to another year. We spent most of the day at my folks playing Wii Sports; fun to play with others. It looks like it will be an annual thing; we played Wii last year on New Year's Day.
What do you have planned for this year? Here's a few things from us:
So, how was your New Year? It's over already. I started back at On-Line Tax & Accounting today. I pretty much spent the day getting ready for the tax season. I also was working on my first tax return of the year (well it was for 2006). It was a short day, from 9AM to 4PM. Normal day will be 9AM to 8PM.
I was looking at my past journal. I found one on Oct 2, 2002 that had this to say, "I have a new cell phone now with Sprint. The At&t plan expires this month and I wanted to get a head start on things. There are only so many people who can have a phone at work and the plan is too good to pass up. Basically, I get 750 anytime minutes with long distance, 20m of downloads a month, caller id, voicemail, and web for only $15 a month. That's a deal too hard to beat. Perhaps we'll talk later?" Boy, how prices have changed!
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,"- Titus 2:11-12
As we start a new year, we should also take this time to restart our faith in Christ. Let's remember His salvation for our souls. Let's also restart how we live, daily. Take time to be committed to a holy life that would bless God proud.
We're five days into the New Year. How are your resolutions? Falling short, yet? I have been enjoying the change of pace; going from OfficeMax to On-Line Tax. Out of sales into tax preparation. Usually when there is a change in jobs, family, home, or something similar it is at that time we may make other changes that are tangible to our Spirit life. Perhaps this would be a good time for me to reevaluate my life.
What do you think about your life? What would you like to change? Would you like to grow closer to God. Would you like me to pray for you? Go ahead, tell me. Send me an email by clicking on the COMMENTS link, above. You do not need to include your name or email address. Just let me know how you are doing and for what you would like me to pray. Bless God.
Good day to you! I see you have made it this far; good going!
I wanted to take this time to thank the Lord that I have a wonderful wife who is patient and loving. Thankfully, she wants the best out of me and I don't know how I would be doing if I were not married to her. I think I would be a loner or someone who has problems with confidence. At least that's what I fear.
Where do you find your confidence? It would be my hope that I find my confidence in the Lord, Jesus the Christ, as well. Sometimes we falter by seeking human encouragement. While greatly appreciated, human encouragement it is not eternal.
Today we went to see the movie "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything." It was Kimber's first movie at the theater. Just the thought of it made me a little teary-eyed. Oh, Levi went with us, as well. He slept through the first half, thankfully, or it might have been a little crazy. We skipped the previews, too.
Originally I was going to drop Kimber and mommy off so they could watch it together. But then Levi fell asleep in the car. We bantered the idea of bringing him in if we didn't have to pay for him. What we didn't want to happen was having him be cranky and crying during the movie. I agreed to take him out if he did. After he woke up, he just watched the movie (and jumped a little at the canon blasts!) Levi was young enough to get in free, and the attendant let Kimber go in free (thanks!). So, it was just the cost of Lydia and I (plus popcorn and an Icee).
I thought the movie was put together well (for some reason God wasn't mentioned once; what happened there?). The message was about being a hero, no matter who you are. Perhaps this script was constructed shortly after 9/11? We know computer-generated movies can take a few years to be completed after the script is put together and the cast is picked. I would give the movie a "B". Now, go see it yourself!
Good to see you here, again! Well, I have finished a full week of work at On-Line Tax. We had a few clients while I worked. I also went through a lot of files, attempting to sort out the stuff we do not need and the stuff that matters. There was a lot of junk.
I have not prepared anyone's taxes as of yet. I know it will come very soon, and I will have lots of opportunities to . . . practice and improve. My goal is to maintain a high quality and a perfect record. That means I will take my time to make sure everything is correct and do what I am suppose to do.
There are just about five weeks left in the tax season. I have had a lot of opportunities to prepare taxes this year. I enjoy doing taxes more than sitting up front as a receptionist. Being up front, there is constant activity. When I am preparing taxes, it is at a slower pace.
This Friday, Lydia will be nine months pregnant (yes, you go ten months, not nine). She has just a little over four weeks left till the due date. Whoo-hoo!
Charlie Abraham Jacob Stover was born Friday, April 11th @ 4:23 PM. He was 6 pounds 15.6 ozs and 21 inches long. He came on his due date!
I want to thank the following who came to visit:
Kimber and Levi Stover
Mom and Dad Stover
Mom Miller
Michelle Stover Caitlin Stover
Sheila and Rick Thompson
Aubrey, Cory and Jordin Aperson
and Pastor Dan Kopp.
