**This part is Written in the Past - For those Mis-Understood** On Thursday morning, Raven met with WWF officials to discuss his potential future with the company. Raven is currently working for ECW under a contract that is just days from expiring. Meanwhile, Raven also is still under a WCW no compete [for WWF] clause that expires around the same time. This will be the first time since his departure from ECW in 1997 that Raven has had so many options. The WWF has at least some interest, WCW would probably jump at the chance of picking up Raven if they think they can get him, and certainly ECW would like to keep Raven... even though Raven and Paul Heyman have been having their problems on and off again over the last 10 months since Raven returned to the company. At this point it is not sure exactly how Raven's meeting with the WWF went. However we have had it confirmed by Raven and some of his closest friends that he has always dreamed of being a star in the WWF and that is where he wants to be now. But if the WWF does sign him... are they signing him for what we know him as... Raven? Or does the WWF still think of him in the lower card, Johnny Polo status that he held during his brief tenure with the company in 1994 (including those backstage interviews at WrestleMania X).Certainly there are options for Raven and hopefully the doors he wishes to enter are fully open for him. If the doors are not fully open and Raven does not get the spot he is looking for, he may be better off settling for his second choice and not getting buried in the political wrestling games that plagued his time in WCW in 1999. It's not 100% confirmed, but there's every indication that this weekend's ECW show in Philadelphia was Raven's last night in ECW. All of the wrestlers were saying he was gone to the WWF and he said his goodbyes to people backstage. He wanted one last shot at the WWF and now he has gotten it. Even though Paul Heyman feels that he didn't get good value out of Raven's contract, the fact of the matter is Raven makes a lot of money and it doesn't make sense to pay him and not use him when they can get out from under his contract. ECW Arena July 7, 2000 *Raven's Final Show* The WWF has officially offered Raven a contract. Jim Ross made the offer during the meeting Raven had at Titan Towers on Friday. Raven missed the TV taping that evening in Milwaukee, but was on hand the following evening for the taping in Chicago. He informed ECW of the offer at that time. Raven still has a binding contract with ECW through August, but was offered his full release several weeks back, and signed it. ECW has yet to sign his release so that he can begin work for the WWF, but may do so now, based on their relationship with the WWF, and the fact that they were the ones who wanted rid of Raven. ~In case some of you are lost, let me put it this way...Stevie Richards, Perry Saturn, Scott Vick a.k.a. Sick Boy and Scott Levy...What do these extremely talented men have in common? That's simple all 4 guy's were known as Raven's Flock granted at onetime, however this isn't ECW or WCW for that matter and finally the gang's back together once again. HOME |
