| ANSEL ADAMS WILDERNESS AREA 30" x 24" acrylic on canvas A painting adapted from a photograph of one of my co-workers. I like the way the clouds and sky turned out. Also, the reflection in the water (which was very difficult to create the illusion of a mirror image). I had more ripples in the water at first, and my wife suggested I make it more calm. It turned out better calm than with ripples. I tried to create a light-dark contrast with the foreground and the background, giving the feeling of being in a shadow. Someone said the upper part of the foreground could use just a little more highlight, but it's the way I intended and reminds me of a place I like to camp. |
