This was a very fun painting to do and turned out to be one of my favorites. I wanted to do a nighttime sky in the mountains with the stars really bright and the milky way. That was very fun to paint. Then I decided the moonlight was not enough so decided to add a campfire and some light from that. The two different colors of light give a nice contrast and you can see both colors of light reflected off of the trees in the foreground. When I finished the painting, I wanted to go camping there! This painting has been very popular.
