My friend Keith took this as a photo originally one day while he was up the canyon. I thought it was so beautiful, I asked if he could print it for me to paint. The original photo, or course, had a straight, paved road. I put a curve in the road and made it a mud/dirt road to add more interest to the painting. American Fork Canyon is very serene-looking in the wintertime and I had wanted to paint it for a long time.
