In the end I think the extra work will be worth it, as it really slicks up the otherwise squarish tail feathers. The real test will be to see how it looks after painting.

| At right is one of the finished horizontal stabilizer fairings installed for trial fitting. Careful observers will note that the aft edge of the fairing is not of the original shape. Well, after finishing the tool for the vertical stabilizer, I started thinking (uh oh) that the gap between the forward and aft fairings might look better if it weren't just perpendicular to the end of the stabilizer/rudder. A little experimenting later I came up with the swept shape you see at right, and applied it to all of the tail fairings. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
