Landing Gear
I opted for the aftermarket aluminum Grove gear legs in order to save 17 pounds, and to help keep the C.G. aft.  For the additional $400 it seemed like it was worth a try.  Using the Grove gear introduced a few complications though, as the legs are thicker and gun-drilled for internal brake lines.  The internal breake lines required fabricating hard lines that fit inside where the gear mounts, cleared the fuel vent line, and lined up with the AN fittings.
This required some weird contortions, but ended up working out fine.  Small cutouts were required around the edges to allow room to get a wrench on the fittings.
The aftermarket gear legs also required a different arrangement for the lower brake lines.  I originally made hard aluminum lines, but decided against it after seeing how the lines would be largely unsupported and subject to a lot of vibration.
