Forward Baggage (cont)
The lower bulkhead was so bad that it was necessary to cut a 1/8" strip from each side, then stitch it back together.
View of all the bulkheads, doors, and floor panels in place.  It was a lot of work, but it should pay dividends in the years ahead when instruments need to be repaired or replaced.
Remove eight screws and swing the door out - you now have access to the instruments in the lower panel.
View of all the doors open.  I will likely follow the lead of local RV-8 builder Joe Waltz and mount the engine monitoring and ignition electronics on the bottom of the baggage floor panels.  This allow full access to the electronics by simply unscrewing and turning over the panels..
A special reinforcement strip had to be made to go around the edge of the doors so the door had something to close against and there was a place to mount the nutplates.
Bandit demonstrates the amount of baggage space the compartment provides.
