The WS Advanced was designed as fast, powerful replacement to the original White Star that was in service within the United Psionic Alliance.  The WS Advanced was also designed as a test platform for the new Hyper X Jump Drive, as well as the "Skin" Cannon, and several advanced navigation and sensory equipment.  The new HR&D Class X Fusion Engines were built for more powerful thrust and designed to handle the stresses of high speed manuvering with the Omni-directional Gravitic thrust system, and still provide excetional forward thrust when needed.

Able to operate in almost any adverse condition, the WS Advanced is a precursor of things to come.  Her Weapons have been improved upon, the Neutron Cannons packing more of a punch than usual thanks to the new ZPF generator, an experimental power plant used by the old races, and finally able for the UPA to put into full use after it's initial run on the FlagShip turned Mobile Operations Facility, Knight Hammer II.  The ZPF enables a near constant energy source, and with the understanding that is had know of ZPF, the UPA is able to use it to it's near full capabillities, providing a clean, safe, and powerful energy source.

The WS Advanced defensive shields consist of alternating gravimetric distortion waves and a complex field of gravitic and electromagnetic energy barriers.  Gravitic based shield systems disburses any and all energy fired upon the White Star around the ship, leaving only the kinetic impact of the blast which is created by the explosive energy released upon impact against the shields. Little to no energy directed at the White Star ever touches the hull; thus any weapon used against the White Star must be significantly more powerful than the energy output of the shields, in order to destroy the vessel in a single blow. Multiple impacts from less powerful weapons can of course result in the ships destruction.  The hull of a White Star is made up of bio-organic technology, thus making a White Star a living entity. A White Star's organic armored hull is almost impregnable and the vessel has the ability to heal and adapt to any attack thus far.  With every conflict, the White Star develops new countermeasures, developing new ways of protecting its self from attack. No weapon has the exact same effect on a White Star twice.
