Nova Scotia

My Dad was born in this province, near Lochaber, and grew up on Cape Breton Island.

The Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, takes visitors past some very impressive seascapes. This picture was taken not too far from where my Dad grew up.

Citadel Hill, Halifax, is one of Nova Scotia's most important historic sites. The Citadel was Britain's answer to the French Fortress of Louisbourg in the fierce tit-for-tat power struggles of the seventeenth century. Halifax is many things to a Nova Scotian - capital, university town, cultural centre and port.

Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, is everyone's idea of what a fishing village should look like. Suitably picturesque for artists and tourists alike, it has attracted both for many, many years. In fact, a number of artists choose to reside in this province, Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg being particularly favoured.
