After Groove Tunnel I was in a band called Jynx based full time in Glasgow for a year, we did some gigs at King Tuts but were primarily studio based. As a result of constant return trips to London studios yet no releases, I got bored and started moving into T.V. music but at the same time got asked by my old agent from Groove Tunnel to do some keyboards for a big Disco band. I went along for rehearsals and lo and behold on drums was Scott Kennedy, an old Mod whom Id had passing contact with since The Shadowland.
Scott and I stuck together however and he came across a bass player called Bruce Wagener whom we started jamming with. We really just mucked about for a while until Scott found Mel Johnson who plays guitar. With the addition of Scotts sister, Sarah we started rehearsing half heartedly and even got as far as doing some recording. This we got into and after adding horns and strings etc we came up with someone we quite liked. This was a year ago and since then we pottered about until Paul at the Gogo asked us to play. At the same time a well known record company got in touch asking for some stuff.
Musically, at the moment, according to The Boogaloos anyway, we sound like Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll. Theres a huge element of Northern Soul, some jazz, early funk and a teensy bit of early rock. Well mature into something at some point but thats where we are at the moment.
