The word of the day in Mrs. Smith's 2nd grade class was 'Confusion.'  Afetr explaining to the students what the word meant, she asked each student to go to the black board and draw a picture representing confusion.

Little Bobby drew  picture of circles, lines, and scribbles.

Jane drew a picture of a house on fire.

Johnny drew a picture of a tornado.

And so on through the class each child in the class went.

Each time Mrs. Smith would congradulate the child on his picture.  Finally, only Tommy was left.  He approached the board, drew a tiny dot in the center, and returned to his seat.  Mrs. smith said, "Tommy, I do appreciate your effort, but what is that, and what does it have to do with todays word?"

Lttle Tommy rose from his seat and said, "Well, Mrs. Smith, that is a period.  Last week my sister missed one, and you should have seen the confusion at my house!"
