America continues to unravel
I read the news today, oh, boy... Well, today, as every day, I opened my web browser to the news site that is my home page, and was greeted with quite a bit of sobering info. First was the headline U.S. Detonates 'Mother of All Bombs' in Florida Test. Then the headline Gen. Franks Doubts Constitution Will Survive WMD Attack.
And finally, although barely mentioned in the mainstream corporate press, I found on some underground media sites, pictures of the recent FTAA protests in Miami, and what protesters are calling unprovoked brutality by a police force that was reported to outnumber protesters. Although I have not heard any reports of violence by the protesters, and only minor vandalism, the police unleashed batons, sippo whips, rubber bullets, shotguns filled with beanbag cartridges, military grade pepper spray, tear gas, taser guns, armored personnel carriers, and concussion grenades. I present to you the most moving of these pictures.
