| Background: I started singing formally in the church choir when I was five or six years old doing the harmony line. In fact it was the harmony line for years before I ever sang the melody. My first taste of lead came in high school productions of Oliver and Brigadoon, and later as Dick Deadeye in a mixed cast production of the H.M.S. Pinafore in Kingston, Jamaica. I've been in a gospel choir in Calgary and a bit more Gilbert and Sullivan here in Halifax. I have more experience than I care to mention around the kitchen table and the campfire. Currently I am focusing on small group arrangements in folk and pop. My solo singing style has changed a lot as well, and I'llI discuss that more in depth in the guitar section. Oh, I'm a high baritone by the way. Click here to go to my downloads page. "Haul Away Joe" is a recording of me singing in four part harmony |
